Preschool

Westport Road Bible Preschool teaches children ages 2 to Pre Kindergarten in a loving Christian atmosphere. Dedicated teachers and school staff help children grow in their knowledge of God's love and care. Given small class sizes, children learn about their world through hands-on thematic units. Curricular activities include art, music, circle time, story time, structured play, and movement. Bible characters come to life in daily Bible learning. The preschool offers a variety indoor and outdoor play areas enabling gross motor activities come rain or shine.

As an outreach of the Westport Road Church of Christ, the preschool has served children and families for over 45 years. Generations of children have experienced a safe, loving environment focused on God's love. Preschool activities foster friendships between children and families.

Days and Hours

The Preschool is open from September through mid-May and generally follows the JCPS calendar for breaks and days off.

School days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition for the 2024-2025 school year will be $2,700. This can be paid in full or broken into monthly payments of $300 per month.

Active military and multiple sibling discounts are available.

A non-refundable registration fee of $125 is due upon receipt of each child's registration form.

FIELD TRIPS

Everyone likes to take a break from school and explore the world! Field trips give children a good excuse to ride on a school bus, which is always a favorite of preschoolers.

Fire Station

A visit with the fire fighters is always a hit! The firefighters at St. Matthews fire station have been gracious guests for the past few years.

The children learn about fire safety and they get up close and personal with lots of really cool equipment. This is definitely a preschool favorite!

Farmer Steve

Everyone loves when Farmer Steve and his animals visit!

Each class spend time with chicks, ducklings, goats, bunnies, pigs, and a turkey!

Gymnastics Fun

When the winter weather starts to get the kids down and kids have extra energy, a trip to local gym for gymnastics is fun — usually in January or February.

This trip helps shake off the winter blahs!

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Special programs and parties give us a chance to include family members in the fun of preschool!

Christmas Program

Our Nativity program is an opportunity for family members to share in our love of Jesus.

Cookies and milk with our family and friends follow our program.

End of Year Program

The End of Year program is the last day of school.

Family and friends enjoy a themed show, presentation of preschool diplomas and family lunch before saying goodbye for the summer.

Parties

Celebrations are central to learning and building relationships.

Preschoolers celebrate birthdays by a spirited birthday parade. Holiday highlights include Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter. Parents kindly assist with classroom parties. Derby is a week long celebration complete with Run for the Roses, the Great Steamboat Race, Great Balloon Race and Stick Horse Derby.

The preschool is fully licensed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and meets all the requirements of a full-time daycare facility. ch year, staff members complete 15 hours of continuing education relating to early childhood education. Designated staff members are CPR and first aid certified. The Westport Road Bible Preschool welcomes children regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin or religion.
