The Westport Road church seeks to glorify God by singing, praying and teaching as the Bible directs.  Thus, each Sunday we take communion, sing praises to God, and pray from the heart about matters of shared concern.  Sermons are Bible-based and practical.

WorshipWide.jpgWe have two worship services .  We give them creative names, like "First Service" and "Second Service."   Between them is an hour of Bible Study.  You'll find a wide variety of classes that go from "sitting and listening" to very participatory.

When you come to worship, sit anywhere you like!   There are no reserved seats here.  In the song book rack in front of you, you'll find a pew sheet which contains the Order of Worship along with announcements and other items of interest.

It's a priority for our church.  We believe God wantsus to help families of all sizes grow stronger and healthier, and our ministries arefocused on that goal.

The Lord's Supper, also known as communion, was set in place byJesus himself as a memorial of his death on the cross.  It consists ofunleavened bread, which Jesus said is "my body," and the cup, whichJesus said is "my blood."  We follow the example of the early church byobserving the Lord's Supper every Sunday.  As we participate incommunion with Christ and each other, we remember Jesus' death on thecross and the gift of life he brought us.  We practice open communion:all Christians are free to join us by partaking of these two emblems.

We take up a free-will offering every Sunday (1 Corinthians 16:2) tosupport the work of the church.  All contributions are administeredunder the direction of our elders.  They are used to maintain andsupport our ministries, as well as to support missionary and benevolentefforts in the Louisville area and around the world.  We do not expectour visitors to participate in the collection, but they are welcome todo so, if they desire.

Relax.  We love children and expect them to behave like children!  You may want to take advantage of our Kidz Konnection programs during both Sunday School and the Worship Assembly.

We would love to talk to you about that.  At WRCC you'll find a lovingfamily that wants to be a part of your life.  Any of our ministers orshepherds will be happy to talk to you.  Click here for more information.

The elders and ministers are also happy to meet with you to answer questions or simply to get acquainted.
